B. F. Maleshevsky and his contribution to the development of the pension system in the pre-revolutionary Russia

The article is devoted to the history of formation and development of the pension system in the pre-revolutionary Russia. The public staff pensions system was formed in the second half of the 19th century. It was originated from the statements and calculations by B. F. Maleshevsky which were further borrowed by many of the Western European experts in the field of insurance and pensions and formed the basis of the pension systems of a great number of countries.
