The article discusses the work of famous writers of the early twentieth century - poet and literary critic, legal scholar Boris Vladimirovich Nikolsky (1870- 1919) and his friend and associate, poet and novelist Boris Alexandrovich Sadovskoi (1881-1952). Both the writers professed the Orthodox-monarchist opinions. Tsar- Peacemaker Alexander III in their minds seemed to be the ideal ruler, able to exalt the Russian Empire, to turn it into a great and prosperous power, preserving traditional way based on Orthodoxy, who does not allow the revolutionary explosion in the country. The revolutionary crisis of 1917 contributed to even greater idealization of Alexander III in the minds of writers, and in relation to B. A. Sadovskoi - the subsequent tragic events associated with Soviet history.
