Ballast of ancient merchant ships

The paper analyzes the finds of ballast stones of merchant ships dating from ancient times. This is a rare archaeological find, which is sometimes found near the ancient harbors of the Mediterranean Sea, but only one object of this kind has been identified in the Northern Black Sea region.
