Trajectory considerations in selecting the orbit for the Russian orbital station

The paper discusses the problem of effectiveness in utilizing manned orbital complexes in the national interests of Russia. It provides a look back at the history of using our country’s orbital stations and describes the drawbacks of their working orbits. It reviews trajectory considerations involved in selecting the orbit for the Russian Orbital Station that meets the requirements for observing the territory of Russia and conducting a wide range of scientific research, as well as training cosmonauts for future missions beyond the low Earth orbit.
