Bashkir enlightenment in the context of the social thought of Bashkortostan

The article analyzes the ideas of Bashkir Enlightenment, the historical development frameworks of which cover the period from 1860-s till the early XX century. The thinkers of Bashkir Enlightenment advocated secular education, called for moral perfection, argued against the religious dogmatism. The activities of educating humanists had a great influence on the Bashkir society's aspiration for better education, interest in ethnic culture.
