"The abyss" as a part of Tiutchev's poetry conceptual vocabulary

The article contains the description of word "abyss" inside the frame of Tiutchev's poetry conceptual vocabulary. In the description a wide out-literature and literature context was involved: linguistic, mythological and philosophical meanings, and also the ones which were gathered by the literature tradition (first of all the tradition of XVII-XIX c.). In the borders of the context the Tiutchev's concept discovers as traditionalism as originality that is proved by the analysis of some well-known verses. The conclusion of the article is the following: Tiutchev's understanding of abyss is on the edge of classical and modernistic: as Tartar's depth and as always actual alter-existence.
