The study discusses the problems of preserving the estate garden and park architecture designed at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Gardens and parks as an integral element of the manor culture represent a great component of the national heritage. The irretrievably lost manors have led to the disappearance of a considerable part of the Russian landscape architecture that is hard to be restored. However, this process is necessary as the reconstruction of the past objects in many respects makes it possible to understand the features of the Russian park building of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. It is characterized by the recreation of the habitat under laws of beauty taking into account the outlook characteristic of the turn of centuries that combines contrast spiritual and emotional attitudes. By a case study of the estate park of I.I. Mazaev, the research demonstrates the park and garden landscape formed as a result of the synthesis of the natural environment and worldviews of the estate owner.
