EU - Mercosur bilateral agreement on free trade: in search of consensus

The article discusses the negotiation process on free trade agreement between the Common Market of the Southern Cone (Mercado Comъn del Sur, Mercosur) and the European Union (EU). Although attempts of creating a common market of free trade between South America and Europe began in the 1990s, but until now the parties can not reach agreement. Analyzes the obstacles that are on the way. It is concluded that Mercosur and the EU will be able to come to a consensus and sign a promising agreement.
