A substitution of necrosis nidus occurs in myocardial infarction (Ml) during a process of reparative fibrosis (RF) going with mandatory involvement of the main components of extracellular matrix (ECM). Age peculiarities of clinical progression of Ml and complications could be related to RF modification, however these cases are unexplored. To study a postinfarction RF 72 male patients with Ml (29-69 years old) were examinated, a content of the main components of ECM-atotal(tHyp), free (fHyp)and peptide-bound hydroxyproline(pHyp) levels in urine, glycosaminoglycans (GAG) and fibronectin (FN) levels in blood serum were estimated. The study showed that postinfarctial RF has age peculiarities.
