Stable functioning of ruminal digestion, maintenance of a balanced microbiota composition, and prevention of alimentary diseases are key aspects of ruminant feeding. To achieve these goals, probiotic supplements particularly active yeasts are widely used in dairy cattle farming. Milk yeasts of the species Kluyveromyces marxianus are currently less studied in dairy production but show promise as a probiotic agent. Cows in the control group were maintained on the standard diet used on the farm, whereas cows in the experimental group received the «KLUVER PRO» supplement, based on live dried Kluyveromyces marxianus yeast, at a dose of 20 g per head per day.
