Biomechanical analysis of right straight punch in boxing

Analyzing boxers’ competitive activities, the author emphasizes the importance of mastering long-range powerful punch while noting that up to 40-50% of the attacks miss the target. This comparative biomechanical analysis of right straight punch techniques (hitting or missing the target) reveals the conditions that a boxer must follow before the fist makes contact with the target. It is concluded that traditional methods of teaching these boxing strikes are inappropriate.
