Charitable Activities of the Buddhist Community of Buryatia during World War I (Based on Buryat Sources in Classical Mongolian Script)

The article is based on Buryat archival materials written in Mongolian script and preserved in the collections of the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia. The purpose of the research is to trace and reconstruct the organizational and legal features of the process of documenting the collection of monetary donations and financial reporting in Buryat datsans in order to provide assistance during World War I. An analysis of the written documentary sources leads to the conclusion that Buryat datsans made a significant contribution to organizing aid for those in need during the war years.
