Charity as a mechanism of transferring of the highest values (case-study of Togliatti)

The article deals with the socio-cultural relationship of the modern philanthropists’ charity with the movement of public support of the XIX century. Empathy, as the highest value, is analysed as one of the channels of cultural continuity, which is transferred by means of charity in the middle Volga region. By case study of the developed system of social support in Togliatti, the author studies dependence of the charity from the spiritual and moral qualities of the population.
