Wealth and poverty as degrees of public welfare in the world and in Russia

Бесплатный доступ

This article explores the problems of wealth and poverty as degrees of social well-being, as well as socio-economic inequality as a factor in the development of these categories. The distribution of household income in general in the world and in Russia using the Gini index and the fund ratio is shown. It has been concluded that it is critical for social stability to deepen socio-economic inequality, excessive poverty for a large part of the population of the country against the background of the growing well-being of a narrow group of persons. It has been proved that the main ways to solve these problems are to transform the autocratic state towards the creation of a modern developed democracy with a market economy, to introduce a progressive scale of taxation, and to normalize social and labour relations.
