Бесплатный доступ

The paper describes all large openwork lunulae of the Еast European champlevé enamel tradition that have been published to date (48 items). It proposes a new classification that takes into account research conducted by G. F. Korzukhina complementing her results. The analysis of the chronology shows that large openwork lunulae were in use from the second half of the 2nd century to the first half – middle of the 3rd century. Presumably, east of the Middle Volga region and the Kama region which are considered to be their core area, such lunulae were in use from the second half of the 3rd century to the early 4th century. The mapping results show that most finds originate from the Dnieper region. It can be assumed that this type of jewelry emerged in the Late Zarubintsy environment under the influence of the Roman traditions.
