The paper describes cooperage found in the course of excavations of theNovo-Ierusalimskiy Monastery in 2011 and 2014. The aim of the exploratory work wasto perform attribution and dating of the items as well as identify their functional purposethrough comparison with known analogies. The exact attribution is possible only forthree vessels: one barrel was used to store wax or honey; two barrels were used to carrywater. The remaining vessels (33 fragments) were either barrels or tubs for storing foodproducts. Besides, the secondary use of cooperage to repair the floor in the cellars wasestablished.
