Buddhist art in the vector of the Russian historiography

In the article the author considers the domestic works on the Buddhist Iconography. On the basis of already published researches the analysis the theoretical and practical aspects of the Buddhist painting is made and their relevance is substantiated in the modern world. The author also carries out the research in the phenomenal features of the main Buddhist treatises that interpret the forms and content of the Buddhist tankhas. Thanks to preservation the line of transmission of the Buddhist philosophy since the Indian university of Nalanda and the line of continuity of teachers, the created color of the Tibetan culture is reflected in the modern world as a unique phenomenon having centuries old experience of the whole people that could preserve and keep the Buddhist art without altering its essence and methods.
