Buddhism and the features of social psychology of the Chinese ethnos

The article first considers the features of social psychology of the Chinese ethnos as a factor affected the penetration of Buddhism in Chinese society. It is shown that such intellectual and cognitive national peculiarities of the Chinese as a stereotypical way of thinking, underdevelopment of abstract thought and a tendency to a specific metaphorical and retrospective way of thinking can be referred to the factors that are not conducive to the penetration of Buddhism in China. We have concluded that in order to understand the process of Buddhism penetration into society, it is necessary to analyze all spheres of social life and to identify other factors favoring or impeding this process.
