Buryatia in the space of documentary Soviet films (1923-1941)

The article reviews the activities of the National commissariat of education and the Buryat scientific committee on the development of film industry in Buryatia. The content of newsreel releases, film chronicles, documentaries created by the studio staff «Soyuzkinokhronika», «Sovkino», «Central Studio of Documentaries», «Irkutsk Studio of Newsreels» is considered in the chronological order. The feature films connected with Buryatia are briefly characterized.
