The article deals with modern folk legends and stories of the Buryat, living in Mongolia. The Genealogical stories about Horidoe, stories about historical fgures Balzhan hatan, Babzha-Baras Bator, the fghters and Bator are very popular among them. The opinion about the fading genre of legends among the Mongolian Buryat was not confrmed.
