Reading targeting in teaching Russian as a foreign language at non-philological higher-education institutions

The article deals with the methods of teaching various types of reading for foreign students studying technical disciplines. Some types and kinds of reading and their features are treated herein. Special attention is paid to skimming, extensive, scanning and intensive reading. Some recommendations on text selection are given herein.
