Target functions of specially protected natural areas of small and medium size

The asymmetry in the location of specially protected natural areas (hereinafter: protected areas) and the frequency of their creation was significantly influenced by the resource component. The dynamics and spatial direction of global commodity markets, changes in human motivation regarding consumption and use of resource potential are reflected in the geographical location of protected areas, determining their special place in the territorial structure of the country's regions. In each region, the "fate" of most protected areas depends on the individual representations of authorized persons about the real value of the resource potential of protected areas, and, often, the options for the conservation of natural resources lose out to the options for their exploitation in economically profitable economic sectors. Therefore, the analysis of SPNA organization programs in recent decades revealed their relatively low effectiveness and the need to increase attention to the functioning of small and medium-sized SPNA.
