Cost of adaptation: typology of adaptative damages of social systems

The article considers the problem of an assessment of negative consequences that arise from adaptation to the social systems. It is characterized the term "cost of adaptation" in the context of the adaptive processes in the social systems. It is described in detail the stages of the preparatory phase and the phase of the adaptive change of a cycle of social system adaptation. It is pointed that the negative effects of adaptation of the social system are forming in the phase of adaptive changes, which is accompanied by increase of social tension and transformation. The emergence of pathologies associated with the depletion of the system. This article gives terms of functional, structural and temporal costs of adaptation of the social system. It is offered methods of measuring the cost of adaptation as a general indicator of the negative consequences of adaptation. It is given models for the calculation of indexes of the adaptation damage and the adaptation expenses. It is proposed to use indicators of functional and structural expenses to estimate the cost of adaptation in the adaptive process. It is recommended to estimate the cost of adaptation after system stabilization and the end of the transitional process for the totality of the indices of functional, structural and temporal costs of adaptation. The results allow concluding about the possibility of applying the proposed methodology to improve the quality of the adaptive control.
