The research analyzes the dependence of trends in the development of law and legal reality on values of society. The study identifies that, from the perspective of a regulatory symbolic space, the individual perceives the present-day legal reality as a complex hierarchical system of deontic statements. The novelty of the study consists in interpreting the sense of justice as an ideological symbolic environment where the individual gets new information about social rules-based behavior. The attitude of the social actor to law is determined by universal principles and ethical categories within the framework of the sense of justice. The supervenience principle is a novel approach to solving the problem of the relationship between the system of law and the sense of justice. The study notes that the practical issues of the harmonious development of legal culture and the sense of justice as a ground for the value content of the system of law still play a major role in modern Russia.
