The article considers the values and attitudes of the modern personality as a factor determining the formation and development of corruption in the educational sphere. Consumer society gives rise to a new type of personality, the behavior of which often diverges from familiar patterns and standards. A break with traditional culture, an orientation on the values of a consumer society often leads to the formation of a parasitic psychology, which generally negatively affects all institutions, including education.
