Price elasticity as a factor of the formation the demand for electricity

In the study the factors of the formation of demand for electric power in Krasnoyarsk Region are considered, the distinctions in the formation of demand of separate groups of consumers for electric power are revealed, the results of calculations of price elasticity of demand of separate groups of consumers of the electric power in the region are given. In Krasnoyarsk Region the problem of non-payments for consumed electric power from various groups of consumers is very actual. JSC “Krasenergo” pursues rather tough policy in relation to defaulters (rolling blackouts of debtors, the requirement of advance payment, penalties for non-performance of contractual obligations on consumption volumes and the requirement of payment in ''live'' money) with the purpose to mobilize money. This policy yielded some positive results, but the problem of branch is not solved. Moreover, the measures taken by JSC “Krasenergo” caused negative reaction of consumers and politicians. In particular, they declare that existing tariff for electric power is excessive for consumers, and the proposals of producers on its increase are unreasonable...
