The Central Asian Direction of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy in the Context of a New Emerging Geopolitical Worldview

The article analyzes Pakistan’s policy in Central Asian countries which is characterized by a high level of activity in the new emerging geopolitical reality. Emphasis is placed on Pakistan’s competitive strategic geographic advantages, which allow it to position itself as a key transit hub between Central and South Asia. It is emphasized that Pakistan’s foreign policy has shifted its focus to geo-economic principles for developing relations. is proved that the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the countries of the region acquired large-scale dynamics especially in such areas as transport, energy and trade. The choice in favor of institutionalizing cooperation with the countries of the region through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization demonstrates Islamabad's desire to play a more significant role in regional political and economic processes. It is concluded that the policy of active participation in modern geo-economic processes in Central Asia is linked to Pakistan’s desire to join the emerging regional geopolitical configuration, strengthen its strategic position and increase its level of subjectivity.
