Ecclesiastical-social and preaching activities of Archpriest Yevgeny Kondratiev (1868–1938)

The article deals with the church-social and preaching activities of Archpriest Yevgeny Kondratiev, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy in 1892. Father Yevgeny served in St. Petersburg in the church of St. Petersburg in 1892–1894. St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Gromovo orphanage, in 1894–1909 — in the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos on Sennaya Square. Since 1900, he was the permanent and active secretary of the Society for Helping the Poor at the Church of the Saviour-Sennovsky. The last place of service of Archpriest Yevgeny Kondratiev was the church of St. Nicholas. Job the Long-suffering at the Volkov cemetery. For the disclosure of the stated topic, the sermons of Father Eugene, published on the pages of the journal «Izvestiya po Saint-Petersburg Diocese», are involved. Special attention is paid to the activities of Father Yevgeny during the Soviet period, as well as the circumstances of his arrest and martyrdom in 1938.
