The author continues to publish the results of her studies the history of the religious movement of the early twentieth century for the reform in the Russia Orthodox Church. In the end of 19th century the religious activity in Russian society began to grow, some people saw it as a “spiritual fermentation” another - as the eve of “major religious movements”, others called it “religious fermentation” (N. A. Berdyaev), and others immediately perceived it as a public religious movement (L. A. Tikhomirov). It began with the return of the Russian intelligentsia to religious consciousness. The intelligentsia did not return to be a passive part of the Church community, but wanted to contribute to the revival of Church autocracy in society. This position was taken with enthusiasm by those clergymen who themselves thought about the revival of preaching and Church administrative reform. They began to consider itself as a “reformation movement of the Church.” A group of reformers, who did not find the opportunity to publish their journal, used the “Tserkovnyy Vestnik” for this purpose in 1906-1907. The paper reviews the articles of the “Tserkovnyy Vestnik” in 1906-1907 and examines the question of ‘whether the journal can be considered a periodical of Church reformers’.
