The article provides a brief analysis of the legislative provisions revealing the concept, essence, conditions and limits of civil rights self-defense as a way of protecting civil rights as a whole, and the content and conditions of the use of information as one of the possible uses of self-defense tools, in particular. On this basis, recommendations are made to improve the implementation of this element of the civil rights protection system in the field of practical application.
