Prevalence of human papillomavirus having increased cancer risk in reproductive-aged women of the Tomsk region

The study included 252 patients living in Tomsk and the Tomsk region (mean age 42±1,7). The incidence rate of human papilloma virus (HPV) infection is 46±4,6%. HPV DNA was detected in 26% of healthy women, in 35% of patients with uterine cervical lesions, in 85% of patients with cervical displasia and in 86% of patients with cervical cancer. HPV type 16 and type 31 were found to be the most common types in HPV-positive women. Clinically significant concentration of HPV was observed in 6,7% of healthy women, in 74,4% in patients with cervical diseases and in 32% of patients with cervical cancer.
