In the article proposed by the author, the goal is to consider the situation in the socio-economic system of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the late 1980s - early 1990s. In order to systematize the reasons for the development of subsequent events on the territory of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, a detailed consideration of the socio-economic situation of the republic itself is necessary, which largely played in the mood of the Chechens, Ingush as titular peoples, Russians, ethnic minorities living on the territory of the republic. In this regard, the purely socio-political activity in the republic during the period under review of the first half of the 1990s, and specifically in 1991-1992, is of particular value. before the development of military events. In this case, economic difficulties are also intertwined with a distant but unforgettable past associated with punitive actions for the forced resettlement of Chechens and Ingush to Central Asia and the Kazakh SSR. These facts are supplemented by such a social phenomenon as the struggle for power.
