The ancient philosophy, particularly Platonic, idea of "self-care" is considered in its contradictory relation to Protagoras ' thesis about "man as a measure of things". In the context of the principle of "human-measure" idea "of concern" (ἐπιμέλεια) on "actually his" (αὐτός τò αὐτό) discovers a very important extension: the person is a problematic place pairing different concerns - concerns not only about myself, but others in the world as a whole. Consequently, the thesis of man as the "measure of all things" and the idea of "care" must be considered in their mutually-determining unity. It is shown that this interpretation of "self-care" was actually predestined by Heidegger's interpretation of the "Protagoras thesis" and after it was developed by V. Bibikhin in his interpretations of Plato's "Alcibiades I".
