Taking one burial as an example, the paper reviews cultural contacts betweenthe West Koban population groups and the steppe herders from the adjacent areas at thestart up of the Early Iron Age. The burial described in the paper can be attributed to theChernogorovsky culture that some researchers associate with the Cimmerians.
