Aspects of a national archetype in the mythologised depiction of Christ in Turgenev's works

The theme of the article is an analysis of the functional role of reminiscences from the New Testament in the works of IS Turgenev, "Notes of a Hunter" ("Living Power") and "Poems in Prose" ("Charity", "Christ"). The artistic interpretation of the image of Jesus Christ turns out to be in the writer's dialogical relations with the interpretations of this mythologem in Christian theology and European art.
