The article is devoted to the study of Lidia Chukovskaya’s poetry, which to date has hardly been studied in literary studies. The aim of the work is to investigate the subject structure of her lyrics in the light of the question of personality at the time of the Great Terror as the main point in Chukovskaya’s work as a whole. The object of the study is the whole array of Lidia Chukovskaya’s poems published to date. The research methodology is determined by the concept of subject neosyncretism presented in the works of S.N. Broitman. At the initial stage of the analysis the biographical basis of Chukovskaya’s lyrics is revealed and the neutralisation of autobiographical components in the structure of the lyrical “I” is shown. Further, the system of pronouns forming this structure is considered, which in turn allowed us to designate syncretism as the key artistic technique that determined the poetics of the subject in Chukovskaya’s lyrics. Hence, it became possible to characterise the representation of personality in Chukovskaya’s poems: “I” is a syncretic lyrical subject endowed with independent aesthetic functions. It is shown how the transformation of the lyrical “I” brings it to the periphery of the subject structure: “I” and “others” form a lyrical syncretic subject with open and movable boundaries (I, you, we, you, them). The article consistently reveals these functions and studies the architectonics of the syncretic subject, organised as a complex space of communication between the “I” and the “other” (“others”). As a result, the study reveals the intersubjectivity of the lyric “I” as a principle of its syncretism and the author’s value position in relation to the fate of the individual in the years of Stalinist repression.
