The article discusses the question about the horizon of the narrator in the novel “Demons” again. His cognitive horizon and discursive strategies are considered in connection with the characteristics of the artistic reality of the novel, which includes fictional and factual elements and enter into a special relationship with the extra-textual historical reality. The narrator is not just a figure of the border between the two worlds, but dynamically combining the competence of the character and author, contributes to their interpenetration. This creates a new specific kind of realistic narrative.
