Glinka’s opera «Ruslan and Ludmila» is considered in the light of mythopoetic thinking. The internal tension hidden behind the symbols takes away the notorious question about its static and protracted nature. The discovered system of «conjugate motives», based on «motive of seduction» (as it is named by Glinka), forms intertextual relations between the opera and Glinka’s «Waltz-fantasy» as well as Pushkin’s poetry. As the result, the importance of «Ratmir and Gorislava» couple is revealed.
