Chuvash nationalism of the late 19th -early 20th centuries (ideological issues)

The author studies main ideological issues of the early Chuvash nationalism of 1900-1910-s, which was developing as a cultural and intellectual movement. It is emphasized, that literature played an important part in the development of the Chuvash identity, and the first Russian revolution of 1905-1907 became a major factor for activation of the Chuvash national movement.
