Digital transformation in the dairy subcomplex of the agro-industrial complex

The subject of this article is the processes of digital transformation of the agro-industrial subcomplex of the country's agriculture. Currently, scientists and practitioners are actively discussing issues related to the use of digital technologies in agriculture in order to improve the quality of its products and its competitiveness in the global market, optimize processes and reduce costs at all stages of the product life cycle. The purpose of the work is to identify opportunities for digital transformation in the dairy-food subcomplex of the agro-industrial complex at all stages of the production cycle, in particular, in the production of raw milk, and to determine the role of integrated formations in these processes. The basis of the study was the works of Russian scientists on the theoretical and practical aspects of digitization of the agro-industrial complex, official statistics and documents characterizing the state and targeted programs for the development of agriculture in the Russian Federation. The methodology of the work was a set of general scientific research methods, systematization and analysis of information. As a result of the study, it was revealed that at the moment the introduction of digital technologies is most necessary at the stage of production of raw milk, but these processes are associated with a number of difficulties. First of all, the difficulties cause financial and organizational aspects, since most of the raw milk is produced in households and small farms, and they are not able to provide modernization and digitalization on their own. The conclusion is made about the significant role of integrated formations in ensuring the digital transformation of the dairy-producing subcomplex, as well as the need for state support of these processes. Based on foreign experience, an assumption was made about the need to involve scientific and educational institutions in order to help all the digitalization participants to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to work with modern digital technologies.
