The article analyzes the processes of transformation in the media, intensified in the digital media environment, the problems of modern mass media relationship with the audience are formulated. The audience has been increasingly fragmented, and its composition changes. The author justifies the emerging institutional and social conflict, that appears as a contradiction taking place during an information society building.
