The pandemic interest in digital technologies and the shift towards distance learning has clearly demonstrated the diversity of the latter and its active use by educators and directly by educational organizations. It is important to rethink the very approach to the use of digital technologies in education on the basis of experience and existing practices of application, problems and limitations that have arisen in the course of the use of digital university models and their content. The practical significance of this study is related to the development of a holistic and balanced concept of the digital university for further analysis of the university as a whole, not only in terms of the application of digital services and tools directly in the educational process.
