The article discusses the embodiment of the cyclical plot invariant in N. Luginov’s story "Toybol" - a chapter of the novella “Taas Tumus” (“The Stone Cape”). The storyline demonstrates the key elements of the cyclical plot: there are the subsequent phases of sending the reader to “the alien world” (old Tobol’s memories), collision with death (a series of deaths of beloved people, the episode reduced to mortal combat with the giant fish), as well as return of the main character to the previous state (new hope for the meeting with his daughter). The study of classical Yakut literature works from the perspective of classical story line proves the statement that ethnical literature develops within the world literature tradition. On the one hand, it allows revealing the universal humanistic message of national literature, and on the other hand, to emphasize its conceptual and artistic peculiarity.
