This paper provides an analysis of data on the role of circadian rhythms in the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying various diseases, with a particular emphasis on obesity and metabolic syndrome (MS). The pathogenic basis linking circadian rhythms to obesity and MS is explored, including alterations in glucose tolerance, lipotoxicity, and hormonal imbalance. The study highlights the crucial role of restoring normal circadian rhythms in maintaining physiological function, as disruptions in the daily regulation of insulin, cortisol, melatonin, leptin, and ghrelin secretion contribute to insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, and excessive accumulation of visceral fat. It is noted that over the past five years, scientific interest in the role of circadian rhythms in the development of obesity, diabetes mellitus, and metabolic disorders has remained consistently high.
