The paper presents results of the recent archaeological investigation in the Kubalach mountain range in central Crimea. The fill of the dungeon of a previously unknown fortress of Crimean Barbaricum was examined here during the field works conducted in 2024. In the 1st–4th centuries AD the fortress survived two military disasters; according to the preliminary data, its construction was linked to the rise of the Bosporan Kingdom in this region.
