In work results of studying the frequency and spectrum of chromosomal aberrations in group of 132 chil-dren-teenagers living in a southern part of the Kemerovo area - Mountain Shoria are presented. Frequency of aberrant metaphases in investigated group (4,74%±0,21) is above in comparison with basic control group. Also increase of frequencies of separate types of aberrations is revealed: chromatid (2,83%±0,16), both chromosomal breaks (1,89%±0,14) and exchanges of chromosomal type (0,32%±0,05) at inhabitants of Mountain Shoria in comparison with basic control group. Stably high values of background chromo-somal aberrations specify that a human population in Mountain Shoria constantly influenced by genotoxi-cal factors. As a principal cause it is considered the long influence of the raised concentration of radon. Radiological researches were carried out in places of residing and training of children. Concentration of radon in air of boarding school premises during the winter period has exceeded an admissible level (up to 200 Bq/м3).
