Civilizational dimension of demographic problems (the case of China)

The article deals with the specifics of the regional demographic development in the civilizational dimension. By the example of China's history the author examines the driving forces of demographic processes, considers the possibility, limitations and consequences of managing these processes by political and administrative methods. He also shows the necessity of working out coordinated approaches to the demographic policy of different countries within the frames of modern dialogue of civilizations.
