The civilizational factor of the value crisis of contemporary culture (based on the results of the world values survey)

The author presents an analysis of the civilizational factor of the value crisis of contemporary culture. The emphasis is placed on identifying some features of the objectification of the value crisis in the cultural and philosophical reception. At the same time, the problem is considered not only in the traditional paradigm of the civilizational approach but also through the prism of the results of the World Values Survey (1981-2020). The survey is based on the methodology of cross-cultural analysis. Several stages of this authoritative research make it possible to assess the state of the cultural crisis on the basis of the transformation of meanings and the significance of key values for the development of man and society. Addressing the World Values Survey makes it possible to identify the value crisis precisely in the civilizational aspect. The study also draws attention to two leading areas of research on the value crisis of culture, which can be considered additional to the civilizational perspective.
