“Color revolution” as a threat to the national security of the Russian Federation

This article discusses the attitude of the Russian Federation to the “color revolutions”. We paid special attention to the role of the US in its organization, technologies and consequences. Within the framework of the typological method, we compared the countries of the Post-Soviet space where the “color revolutions” took place in order to understand whether the “color revolutions” fulfilled its mission. In this regard, we came to the conclusion that in almost every state where the opposition managed to defeat the current government, there was a regression in political and economic development. In the Russian context, “color revolutions” are a threat to national security. In this regard, the Russian government is taking certain measures to identify and prevent it. A number of measures were taken to restrict the activities of foreign organizations on the territory of the Russian Federation. Also special national troops were created as measures to protect the population.
