Tao Sheng in the history of Chinese Buddism

The article is devoted to the role ofbuddisl philosopher Tao Sheng in the shaping of the Chinese buddism. Making comments on buddist sutras, he wrote a number of works, explaning mahayana sutras studies, that were difficult for perception. The ideas of Tao Sheng had formed a circle of problems, that were studied by many philosophical schools of the Chinese buddism. The author investigates life and activity of the philosopher taking into consideration historical analysis of the development of the buddism in China.
